How do you build a lasting legacy and inspire change?

In 2020 - a time of growing global awareness of racial inequality, a group of WPP agencies came together to work on a campaign to launch the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation.

In 2023, we continued our work with SLDF to create #ExtraordinaryOrdinary, a pro-bono campaign covering branding, film and out of home to mark Stephen Lawrence's legacy on the 30th anniversary of his death. 

This campaign was a powerful reminder of the continued impact of Stephen's story and the importance of passing on his legacy to the next generation. Stephen's life was cut tragically short, but his hope and potential as an ordinary young person who inspired extraordinary change lives on.

By striving for a more equitable society, the campaign encouraged people to honour Stephen's memory and ensure that every other extraordinarily ordinary young person like him has the opportunity to thrive.
