How can you stand out by breaking the norm?

A pristine Honda HR-V e:HEV is an insult to the potential for adventure that their playful SUV offers. So we embraced the dirt that’s normally airbrushed out of car ads, and put the evidence of real thrills front and centre.

Unveiled in February 2021, the all-new hybrid HR-V e:HEV didn’t arrive in European dealerships until early 2022. With nothing new to say, we needed to bridge the gap and re-generate interest across 17 markets in Europe. We convinced Honda Motor Europe to break the polished picture sector norm, celebrating the real stories of everyday adventures that the HR-V e:HEV enabled, inspiring a younger audience to shift perceptions of what it means to be a Honda driver. The more gritty representation of the vehicle post-adventure flipped the norms of our digital showroom: 720 degree exterior, 360 degree interior and giga-pixel camera technology allowed users to zoom in to view every spec of dirt from every curated adventure. 

Influencer stories and supported social media drove clicks and ultimately vehicle purchase. The ‘Everyday adventures’ campaign generated 60m+ impressions and ~500k clicks, beating our KPI by 30%. Gnarly.
